Slavery. Is there any group you wouldn't sell to the slavers?

Suppose purely hypothetically you were hauling some passengers and a shady organisation offered you a lump sum for changing their destination is there any group you would spare?

Back in beta I sold some refugees into slavery and felt somewhat bad about it. I had no issues selling snobby VIPS though.

So is there any group of passengers you wouldn't sell?

i dont do slavery.....
(but i do not consider imperial slaves slaves)

so i will protect my passengers... my only exception would be if it turned out they were wanted and i was persuaded to turn them in ;)

In contrast, i would neither sell a refugee nor a VIP into slavery. Either of them can be a good or bad Person and i wouldn't know any way to tell who is who.

The only -acceptable- kind of slavery within the world of Elite Dangerous is the imperial kind, mostly because the word "slavery" is badly placed. Unlike everything slavery normaly stands for, the mechanic of imperial slavery actually is along the lines of servitude and when used properly is a honor-based system which provides social security. Of course, it's also easily abused by people not following the code of honor, which usually turns out badly for the servant, who then ends up as actual slave.
.
So while imperial slavery on one hand is the savety net for imperial citizens of low standing, the way many pilots and some scurpulous imperial citizens of high standing handle it also doesn't win my approval.

To bad that selling passengers into slavery doesn't ruin the reputation of a CMDR (in that system). Resulting in nobody trusting that CMDR and no more transportation missions available for that CMDR anymore (maybe beside slave transportation).

There are simply not enough consequences to make those "moral questions" interesting.
It doesn't matter an therefore it is meaningless.

Personally I will never sell or transport slaves (incl. imperial slaves) nor will I ever sell anybody into slavery.

Slaves are just a number on a spreadsheet in this game. I will sell whatever number gives me a bigger number at the end of the day. The second they actually let me see my cargo and humanize parts of this game, it would be easier to consider the morality of my actions.

Also if you're going to take a moral stand about it with roleplaying, you would basically would have to sever all ties to the Empire and even factions that indirectly benefit the slave trade. Are you buying a lot of machine equipment from an industrial outpost? It's possible that entire chain of parts has been influenced by slave labor. The complexity of operating in a galactic economy full of slaves means there's no easy answer for how to prosper morally.

Might as well just be a bantha herder on Tattooine.

I would not feel good about selling science and exploration groups into slavery. I would sell anyone else into slavery if A) it didn't effect my reputation drAmatically or B) I didn't care about my reputation in that particular place (Feds, haha!! Enjoy the salt mines of Trantor 6)

in the future we will have alien specie slaves.....after we win the initial war of winters coming ect.
get them aliens in chains and shackles and make them rake dust on some plantation planet in a penal system.

like cool hand luke but with aliens....

no shaking the bush on my watch aliens!

so...alien slaves a possiblity in the future gents?

The real question is why my copilot npc can't be slave? Why i need to pay salary for him when slavery is legal in large parts of the bubble. Frontier missed interesting aspect of co pilots.
