slavery question: Smuggle mean steal?

Hello, I have a few contracts, "smuggle slaves to the station." Do the slaves need to be "stolen" or can I buy them from another station and "smuggle" them in that way? If the mission has a "skull icon" that means its a stolen goods contract? If it doesn't then, no, it won't have the skull icon? (The quests did not have the skull icon)

Also, it asks for "slaves" - can these be imperial slaves? Or are there variety of slaves? Certain, specific ones?

Well, that was incredibly awkward to ask.

Slaves and Imperial slaves are never interchangeable. A skull normally means illegal activities. If the commodities are meant to be stolen on top of that, the mission will say so. Otherwise the cargo is forbidden to import, so you cannot afford to be scanned when entering the station in question. That will trigger a security response.

No. Not steal. It means that the station considers them to be illegal so you need to slip passed the security without being scanned. You'll want to reduce your signature (silent running) and fly into the station as quickly as you can without drawing attention to yourself (which often means using flight-assist-off). You may want to go to the training missions and pull up the docking tutorial and give it a try before risking your in-game save. Get directly across from the station letterbox fly toward it with flight-assist-off and then turn on silent running. Your ship may start to overheat... especially if you don't have heat sinks... and you need to be prepared to stop your forward momentum as soon as you enter the station. With any luck and with a bit of practise you'll be smuggling like Han Solo.

Okay thanks. So if it says "smuggle slaves," then if I smuggle "imperial slaves," that won't work. I need good ol fashioned slaves.
