Slavery is a terrible thing, as is killing someone, as is stealing, as is controlling a market and making profit on someone else's misfortune, etc.... If we sensor out all of the horrible things within the gaming universes there won't be anything to fight against or do, we'll be swimming around the galaxy doing pretty much nothing. I want to play in the Elite universe that has these terrible things so that I can play an altruistic character that goes around trying to make it a better universe.. probably because I have too little influence in the real world. I have just gone to a system that exports slaves in order to complete a mission to free slaves, but on arrival the station does not sell slaves... probably because FD have taken them out of the game for now? How far will this go... in the end there will be no game to play. Remove the killing, remove the violence, remove the inappropriate trading, remove the weapons, remove the disproportionate power, remove the hardship, remove the danger.... no game at all! I would say if you feel passionate about 'bad things' in games then put the game down and try to help resolve some of the real world issues out there (nothing anyone does playing in a fantasy game has any real impact on the real world, or I doubt has any impact on their real-world morals).
As an adult I prefer we have the antagonistic behaviours so that moral choices can exist in the game. I say keep slave trading, waring, weapons, violence, and let the players team together to fight against the injustice and freedom... or conversely if someone wants to play at being an antagonist, pirate, on the morally questionable side, then go at it... its a game.
