They are always going on and on about no threats but there could be something to salvage from the wreckage...why not let them do it? It would give even more value to them. Make it a command line just like Defend or attack. Command Clean Up Wreckage. the materials would cache until it docks with you then they would be added to your inventory That way it adds risk, if they are blown up before they dock you lose all the stored materials...Just a thought.
