SLF Orders: "Fire at Will" changed, "Attack All" added.

So, i finally used a Fire at Will command while in a HighRez thinking that (since i had two pirates engaged, both red [aggro'ed]) that if i picked that command she'd engage any hostiles in range, while i engaged the other.
Boy was i wrong...
She murdered a cop...
Got my mothrship nuked...
and set my noteriety to lvl 1 so i am now going to be staring at the inside of a detention center for roughly 2 hours while i wait.

This needs a bit of an addition,
You should add "Attack All" as a command if you want the NPC crew to fire at anything and everythig in sight, not fire at will.
Fire at will is a aggressive command, sure.. but typically it means "attack all hostile targets"
i am truely not happy that the second i picked a wrong command (and it wasnt even a mistake of erronius targeting, i had the pirate selected) she began murdering cops.

Well, cant say if it is or not. only recently started using SLF's. all i know i was in the SLF and the Crew was in my keelback. two pirates and a few cops. i fired at the FAS, and his asp (i think it was an asp) fired at me. so both agro'ed. police show up, start shooting at both the pirates, both pirates die (i personally killed the FAS) and a few seconds later i started taking fire from every cop in the area, SLF blew up seconds later, and as soon as i came out of the transfer to mothership screen i started taking extreme amounts of police fire there too, instantly gained a 5,000c bounty for the murder of Federal Security Service and died moments after that while trying to boost to safty. i never selevted the SYSSEC ships cuz they where highlighted in ally color (gree) so 'i' didnt shoot them, the only thing i did new from my usual hunting was hit fire at will as a crew command... wont be doing that again...

Ive had the SYSSEC ships randomly aggro on eachother too for the last couple of months tho, so maybe they did that to me as well, or maybe my npc got that bug and fired on the cops..... or (i notice shes really bad at flying for an elite pilot) she could have done what she likes to do to me, and slammed into a cop who had no shields... *shrugs* all i know is i dont want to attempt to undock an return to the CG incase i am still wanted in kamici, so i have to wait till i drop back to Zero noteriety and see if i still have that 5,000 something bounty

I log on my Cutter to see what the controls are. An engage at will "Attack any Hostilities within range " We can look at this in 2 different ways. Hostility as the red targets or all targets?

The question I have is what is your NPC Rank? If you are using Harmless he could of miss fire?

For me, I only use Defend target or Attack my Target.

What I wish you can do is Set your NPC attack one target while you attack another target.

Apparently, "fire at will" means exactly that. Sounds like we need an "engage hostiles" option. Fdev does need to look a little closer at the correlation between their verbage and their functions...

You can...
You select the target you want your crew to attack, then order her to 'focus target', leaving you to attack another target. My crew is elite and she's quite capable of killing an Anaconda solo!

"fire at will" is currently not a good choice
your SLF may attack red targets that YOU haven't resolved with a scan.

there is currently a bug where that leads to a fine/bounty as if you had attacked a non-wanted target.
i had that in multicrew a few times, but i think its the same in solo with the slf.

I find fire at will useful in CZs when I let the crew pilot my corvette.
Much easier than having to issue orders repeatedly and also a lot of fun in the slf

I actually tried that, but she switched targets with me and attacked my target instead of the one i'd selected for her "focus target" means she will attack whatever you are attacking, which is why i went with the fire at will...

I have not had any problem, with giving them the order to "attack target" and after giving that order, switch target and fire at that target, while my pilot tries to destroy the other target.

I have this bound to a separate key.

Howe did you issue that order to your pilot?

I selected one target, hit my Key 3 (focus target) then selected the other pirate and fired. i never got a bounty claim for her target so she never destoyed it and moments later she came wizzing by me unloading on my target
