SLF Suggestions and key bindings

Something someone said here quite some time ago prompted me to build an FGS with all seeker missiles except for a Frag Turret on the large Hard pt, as the large seeker missiles were not available at the time. It was quite effective with the SLF flying around for good measure.

With the advent of the large seeker missiles recently I tried doing the same thing with a Type-10 and I've been playing with it with mixed success.

Today, it took me well over an hour to do a single cargo delivery mission [yeah, it's still got cargo space] a 6,000ls trip that should have taken 15 minutes or so because Four Anacondas were sent after me.

Not a problem, it's happened before and with synth'd missiles they were falling quickly enough. Tonight, however, they had ECM and my missiles would go off in random directions hitting the local security ships then the SLF decided that because they were hostile they should get fired at too.

No deaths but I had to make multiple side trips to an IF to pay off the bounty and clean the ship.

From this sob story comes the following:
  1. Can there be an SLF option to only fire upon wanted targets [the real reason for this request]
  2. Can we have a key binding for Launch SLF with NPC Pilot, Launch with Cmdr and switch between the two
  3. and, whilst I am here, another bind for request/cancel docking

thanks :)

While I don't know the answer to this, you can command the SLF to attack a specific target, and that command can be bound to a key / button. It's actually one of my favorite bindings in combat when using an SLF, as I'll often use the SLF as my first strike weapon, especially if the target is out of ranges of my main ship's weapons.

AFAIK, the SLF will stick with that target until it is dead. If you're splashing security forces, then you'll probably want to recall the fighter and get out of Dodge (or just abandon the fighter while it's still attacking the target you gave it).

Yes, but when that target is destroyed it reverts to the previous mode, which was defend so when a missile of mine inadvertently hit a security ship it then started defending me making the situation worse.
