SLFs in CZs

In particular flown by NPC crew, but also when used in multi-crew. The way enemy NPCs choose targets, both after spawning into the instance and when their previous target is destroyed, makes it extremely likely that an SLF just happens to be the next target and is immediately fried. The best one can hope for is to boost away and survive, then dock with the mothership for repairs, hardly contributing to that fight at all. With NPC crew, you just burn through spare fighters.

I know it is tactically sound to swiftly eliminate fighters, but this is no fun and I would really prefer if NPCs in CZs would put them lower on their targetting priority list.

Do keep in mind that being a distraction very much IS contributing to the fight. If an SLF can manage to dodge around enough to survive being focused for a bit, they're effectively tanking damage for the mother ship and helping it more easily line up attacks. An SLF that never fires it's guns can still contribute a lot.

fightercon in cz is a very challenging and intense.
sometimes very very frustrating mostly very rewarding.

Take a fast SLF with chaff. Every shot they take or avoid is one less you have to, and it’s not like they’re expensive.

Half the time my SLF kills something else I’m not even shooting at, so if it earns me 50K credits, does the replacement cost matter?

Well, I prefer not to treat them as expendable ammo... ;)
