SLI with Oculus VR - what car to partner a 1080ti?

In general I'm pretty happy with the performance of my 1080ti in VR with my rift but I was wondering if I could improve the terrain work, detail etc by adding a second card in SLI?

If that works what 2nd card should I get?


Unf. I am not quite able to spend £1500 on a new 2080ti!

As far as I know SLI is not supported in ED. Duel AMD cards in Crossfire definitely didn't work, and actually made the game run worse. Maybe an Nvdia SLI user will be able to tell you better.

You can load in another GPU, to work as a dedicated Physx card, and not have to run SLI.

Elite does not use Physx for anything so this is not going to help either.

Oculus straight up doesnt support sli, unfortunately your only upgrade route from a 1080ti is a 2080ti.

Even if you could get oculus and sli to play nice, Elite itself exhibits negative scaling with sli, so your game would run worse anyway
