I've got the same issue. Everything mid-game suddenly slowed-down three-fold. 10 secs on any space station clock now takes a suspiciously-exact 30 secs of real time. All of the game menus and gameplay similarly slowed. Even the solo combat tutorials. Makes me able to do awesome Matrix-like stuff against computer ships. Restarting, reinstalling, changing graphics settings... none helping. At first, I thought the graphics card had fried, but all seems OK. It's all still smooth... just slow motion.
Sent a support ticket, and I'll see what happens.

ah yes solo and open mode, it would seem that its the netcode ( my isp is as fast as i can go and its more than enough to run it normally) graphics is fine, but yes appraoching stations and coming out of hyperdrive is a big one. Frontier need to add more servers around the world and also to continue to refine the netcode that communications between servers and end users. As well it could be the cpu requiprements are just pushing to hard and that needs refining to but it would appear to be a netcode that needs further development
