Howdy FD. Lovely game etc etc. Like many I've spent a lot of time in conflict zones over the last few weeks, and the time has really highlighted some small quality of life improvements that I've taken note of. Hopefully a few other Commanders may also agree and have a few of their own. Given the leaps and bounds we've seen the game grow since launch I've no doubt you've already considered many of these in passing. I know the Shield Cells suggestion below is something that's been bouncing around in my head for months.
1. Radar Ping for New Selected Target
The target brackets alone don't have enough visual pop when the the radar soup is particularly crowded. In some instances targets may be occluded behind a group of friendly contacts relative to your position. A quick visual "throb" around the newly selected target or perhaps a flash of the radar quadrant the target is in would make it much easier to visually acquire your new target on the radar screen.
2. Remember last Sub System targeted on Target Re-acquisition.
Like many de-targeting is used as a means to continue to put fire on a target when gimbaled weapons are being spoofed by chaff. Once the chaff has expired, and the target re-targeted, the Commander then needs to cycle though to their desired Sub System again.
3. Option to Disable FOV Shift on HUD FOCUS [HOLD]
Simply put with my current HOTAS setup, I've ended up using HUD FOCUS as my dedicated Shift modifier, it's a natural fit given the use context of HUD FOCUS+DIRECTION to access ship functions. However it rather silly because using HUD FOCUS shifts the FOV back and forth. I'd very much like the option to disable to FOV Shift effect on HUD FOCUS.
Perhaps in it's place "HUD" alert up near PROX/IMPACT row. It's not perfect as doing this action is more of a character action than function of the ship and a diegetic menu option wouldn't necessarily make much sense. Still simply being able to disable the FOV shift would make me a happy camper.
4. Show Shield Cells on Utility Firegroup Rack
Self explanatory, Cells much like Heat Sinks or Chaff can be bound to a dedicated button rather than a firegroup. Like the aforementioned however Cells will only show on the main dash if bound to a group. Sheild Cells would be better treated being listed along the Utility Rack along with Chaff and Sinks.
