Small seismic charge query

Has anyone tested a stock Sidy or hauler in close proximity to seismic blast shockwaves? I've seen SLF's get obliterated, wondering how much damage it does to small ships.

Just curious if that is one of the reasons the devs are reluctant to provide them for small ships.
I’d like the opportunity to try.... just an opportunity

I also doubt it. Small ships do have access to seismic launchers (Adder, Cobra), so it seems unlikely that FDev wanted to block off small ships just because they're fragile.

But somebody could always run some self-tests. Strap a seismic launcher to a stock Adder ... Stock Adder has less hull than a stock Hauler.

Honestly, think I'd rather chew broken glass than core mine in anything smaller than an Adder anyway.

Well, you could ask a friend, get them to park next to a roid in a hauler whilst you detonate, for science and all that ;-)

Have the devs given a reason for no small charges?

I doubt my theory is the real reason, just curious. I don't have access to ED for a few weeks.

My orca has wafer thin biscuit shields and I don’t even move away from the roids I just stick it on 4 pips to sys and only lose a ring.

also limpets are immune it would appear

no I’m awaiting a fdev answer, at least then we can have closure on the poor mining update which is not inclusive to all players....

the lack of small seismic charges is probably related to the 3 p’s

the same reason we don’t have small plasmas and small ax.

personnally I don’t think it’s much to ask for inclusion into the games mechanics

How would small seismic kittens differ from their medium counterparts? Would it just be ammo, or would more be needed to hit the blue zone? Just curious.

Probably like the difference between Large, Medium, and Small seeker or dumbfire kitten launchers.. Just the max number of kittens you get to carry..

I can see both ways to be honest. Less charges would probably be easier to do, but adding an extra bit of skill might be fun.
