Smaller hitboxes for long, thin animals

Apparently Fromtier has no plans to alter hotbixes, and while I understand that (they have a lot on their plates) I do wish that animals (especially ones like crocodilians and lizards) had smaller hit boxes. A large alligator is maybe a meter wide but needs six meters of space to enter a building, for example.

Absolutely agree. The Beta Hitboxes were so great. But there seemed to be some kind of Problem even though I've never experienced it. Don't understand why they don't make them smaller again. Some Animals from the Aquatic Pack (King Penguin and I think also the Giant Otter) do have a appropriate Hitbox Size and I didn't have Problems with them so far

The problem isn't the hitbox size, but how it functions. Animals need to be able to stop and rotate 180 degrees at any given spot in a habitat, or else it's considered inaccessible. This is why animals that are much longer than they are wide have ridiculously huge hitboxes; they have the turning circle of a shopping trolley. So the hitboxes don't need to be smaller, what we really need is an addendum to the code that allows animals to traverse narrow passages as long as it leads to somewhere that they could feasibly turn around and get out again.

A temporary solution for this is Planet Zoo Plus, which you can find on Nexus. It brings all of the animal hitboxes to be the juvenile size so they have a lot better navigation.

However, just because it's a modded fix doesn't mean it's fixed. I would love to see official support for more lenient hitboxes.
Good to know! (Love your videos, by the way) I definitely agree about preferring official support to mods; this is why I (and some other players) don't want to download mods until frontier's official support ends
