Smartphone app & xmas gift?

1)There will never be an official app for smartphones? If yes, ... what will it include?

2)there will be some "surprise" for Christmas?

We ask want an app for the game, I'm sure one will materialize eventually.

I think the alpha is our Xmas prezzie this year. But you never know...

I would put a bet that eventually there will be tie in apps. And frontier have plenty experience on phone coding.

Will it be paid, adware, in app purchases or really free, and will it be quality and useful. We will wait and hope. The important thing is the actual game is looking good fun and polished

1. I think an ED app would be very limiting even on the most powerful smartphone unless its a smartphone from the same year in which the game is set

2. Could be wrong but I think the 'surprise' for Christmas was probably the 1.1 update with Oculus Rift support.
