SMEG! have i lost all my 1st discovered planets?

i am at work so cant test.
i have put tags in my galmap of all my 1st discovered worlds so that one day in the future i can go back and land on them. (I have a few of each type of unlandable surface tagged)

however last night i decided to install my version of the game on the oculus store as it has better support for the oculus VR windows.

I then uninstalled my frontier store version.

Are my notes installed on the server or was it on my machine, and if it is on my machine, will they be deleted when i uninstalled that version of the game.

I will be a bit gutted. i have been meaning to make a backup of my notes for the longest of times but never did!.

There are a bunch of galmap things that are stored client side. FD is changing the game so often lately, I don't want to try to produce a list of what is and isn't stored client side. But 'visited' systems is definitely one of them, so I woulnd't be surprised if bookmarks were another?

Stored on the server, no difference between running through Oculus home or the standard launcher.

Oculus and the stand alone launcher all share the same files, I have both version installed on my rig.

phew... so i will still have my planets tagged.... i think i will hard copy them just in case for the future tho.

Thanks

@Aashenfox that was exactly my fear tho it would seem if 777Driver is correct i may have dodged the bullet this time.

Ninja'd by 777driver...

Bookmarks are not, and thinking it through logically; if you first discovered a system/planet then everyone will see that tag, so it cannot be stored locally on your machine, so I'm hazarding an educated guess that your first discoveries are still safe.

Planets and bookmarks 100% safe.

If you clean uninstalled the standard ED launcher, then installed the oculus home version, you will lose your logs files, stuff like last visited, , bindings, graphic settings mission logs etc etc, and all the stuff that gets sent to Inara etc.

If you installed Oculus home first, then uninstalled the standard launcher, those log files will remain.

I can confirm 100% that bookmarks etc are server side as I have a desktop pc that I play elite on at home, and a gaming laptop for playing elite offshore, and my bookmarks etc are present and synchronised / consistent on both computers ergo they must be serverside. GFX/Bindings are local settings, so you might want to back up your bindings.
