So here's my depressing story of the night.
I've spent the last hour or so looking for a good place too offload my latest batch of Onionhead. Been doing some minor system scanning and bounty hunting along the way and so far had earned about 100k credits. Coming into a random outpost to dock, while trying to do some fancy rolling/flipping Han Solo maneuvers to land like a boss. I failed really hard, ended up crashing into the tower and died a spectacular death. Ok so there goes half my profits paying for the insurance, no problem I'll just go outside and have a quick smoke to relieve the seething fury of losing my ship. Well apparently when I respawned, I hit the "Launch" button instead of the "Return To Surface" button but had already left my computer to go outside. Came back to my computer and saw the screen saying, "Ship Destroyed". Apparently the station didn't take kindly to my ship floating around the port while the pilot was off having a tobacco fix, so they shot me to death.
Almost 90k credits gone in about 5 minutes. Lmfao. Remember kids! Smoking kills!
