smooth SRV turret control with a 360 control pad?

I'm using an XBox control pad on PC, and I've not been able to figure out how to get smooth SRV turret control with the little analogue sticks. Actually, I'm fine with the horizontal, but the vertical is much less smooth, and even accessing a data point is a clumsy process, and I'm hoping to go and explore some Guardian site for Ram Tah, so there'll be tears the way things are. :)

I guess its in the settings somewhere, but I've not worked it out. Cheers for any help.

The control section of the options menu should do the trick. I had to adjust the SRV controls when I played on the Xbox one controller, as the deadzone makes it difficult to use with the default settings. You'll have to expand the assignment section (where you tell the game to use the right stick) with i think it's the X button (don't have the game with me right now to verify) and then you can season to taste.

Thanks for that. I did something different actually. In desperation, in the Driving turret controls section of the keybinds I set Turret Mouse X-axis for YAW and Turret Mouse Y-axis for pitch, the 2 Relative mouse axes need to be turned to OFF I think. I then tried controllling the turret with the mouse and it worked very well. Without changing anything, I then tried controlling the turret with my XBox control pad, and it worked really well!

Its as if by eanbling the mouse I have dampened down the controls for the control pad - which seems weird, but problem pretty much solved as far as I can tell. :)

Now, if I could just work out how to have FIRE assigned to the left mouse button, or would I have have the mouse as my main control in the game for that to work?

Combat controls for the SRV inherits ship controls on default, but can be overridden. Actually most controls for the SRV are inherited from what you have configured from the ship. It's why they are set to blank in the settings, but you still can use them. You can technically have a HOTAS for flying, and a Xbox controller for the SRV if you want.
