Smuggling and Cobra MKV

Hello all,
I've taken 7 or 8 years off from ED, where I would come back for a moment or two and then go back to playing Star Citizen.

Lately, with the release of the Cobra MKV, I've been reminiscing about my old Cobra MKIII and the old smuggling missions which afforded me the ability to fully outfit my Cutter, Corvette, FDL, Python...

Are smuggling missions, like the old days in? Very high paying, long distance, lots of NPCs chasing you? I miss those days :)

If so, I am thinking I will buy the MKV and smuggle / bounty hunt, once again!

Edit: Or missions like those? It could be power play 2.0, on foot, in ship, etc....

Darn it! those where the days then. Nothing like silent running into a station at full speed, flipping and lowering landing gear to slow you down. All to avoid a scan.
You can probably get to do that sort of stuff carrying passengers, or even just do it anyway because you enjoy it.

IMO, Cobra mk V is best ship for that. On mine PP LowEmision/ThermalSpr., Thrusters CleanTuning/DD, it runs 14-16% at full speed and I was never scanned nor interdicted since. All that fully shielded, no silent run, everything as usual.

Really thinking about resetting my character, but the engineers really are a grind...

Edit: Reset my character, all progress lost! Billions down the drain...

As for those Billions - too late now obviously, but a friendly/trustworthy Fleet Carrier owner could have served as a bank here.

Back to your original question: if you outfit your ship with passenger cabins - there always are long range sightseeing tours with wanted/criminal passengers. Those guys and gals don't like being scanned by anyone, and if you're scanned by someone who actually wants them (like for example the station they want to go to), you're instantly hostile.

Stations are simple - especially in a cold ship - but planetary bases can be quite challenging.
