Smuggling: Is it as simple as transporting wanted passengers?

I wondered... In my passenger missions, occasionally I'm asked to transport wanted passengers, and I agree because:

  • It pays well.
  • I never get caught. If I hear "scan detected" I hammer the silent running button.

Is it that simple? Can I make a successful smuggling carreer doing nothing more than that? [alien]

Even simpler: all you need is a ship that has enough speed to do two things:
1. when leaving a station: boost out of scan range before a scan can complete (400+ m/s),
2. when entering a station: traverse the last 2-3 km to the mail slot before a scan can complete (300+ m/s).

And of course a pilot who can fly through the mail slot at speed without hitting the wall in the back of the station.

If you want some kicks try it in a big ship.

I always smile whenI see that cheerful spacecat :D
EDIT: Though it occurs to me that since the "orbit" and the cat's mouth are the same colour, it could conceivably look like it has a G string over its head ;).
But yeah, cute spacecat of awesomes :D.

It's simpler, cargo does not complain about hull damage, or breaking the law (even though some of those s are wanted by themself) and if everything goes wrong and you get scanned, I think it is usually just a fine instead of annihilation with a wanted passenger ,)
