Newcomer / Intro smuggling question

Ok, so I've powered off everything but thrusters, FA off and silent running on yet I'm still being scanned. I know I can sell all my illegal wares at an outpost but missions requesting black boxes and the like can only go to the quest giver. I like the challenge of smuggling into coriolis and orbit but it seems a little bugged. I am at 30% heat when I hit the grill with Silent Running on and it says I get scanned.
If I'm not emitting any heat how am I being locked? I will try and post a video of this happening.

I think its more important to be quick than stealthy with the internal Starports.
I like to line up with the slot a little way out and then boost in before decelerating to about 40-50 speed when you approach the fence around the slot.
If you still get scanned, don't panic and continue through the entrance at that speed. It takes about 5secs for the scan to complete which gives you plenty of time.
I usually always also drop a heat sync as I am approaching the fence as well. This helps to avoid scans.

Thanks for the advice. It would be cool If instead of docking you stealthed to an airlock and went in Eva to exchange your illicit goods.

But you are generating heat, 30% of it. At close range that will be enough to pop up on police scanners.

You need to get heat to 0% or fly in very fast or only take those missions from outposts (which is what I do).

Reducing heat and em signature only decreases the field out from you which identifies you, allowing you to be resolved as a target. If you get close enough, you can still be resolved and scanned. Cops hang out near the entry point so you need to go right past them to get In to dock.
You need speed as well as stealth to get through. I did it consistently in a sidewinder on .65 usage. Just be sure to lign up the approach first then switch off as much as you feel comfortable with. Once you're inside you're pretty safe.

It's very easy to get in before you get scanned.

Remember, you only need to get inside the mail slot.
They stop scanning you when you're inside.

Stay outside scan range, and line up with the mail slot at 4-5 KM range, and boost straight in.

Soon you won't even be lining up and just fly in hot from any direction :)

Speed is the key, not stealth, you don't even really need to boost unless you're super confident you can avoid becoming a red stain on the front of the station.

Just head full throttle for the slot and 99 times out of 100 you will get in before any scans can complete.
