Smuggling - System Security spawn right in front of me. Bug?

Hi All!

Currently enjoying running smuggling missions, but the last few runs have been stopped by what appears to be a bug. I will drop out of Super Cruise, either for a station or after being interdicted by a pirate, and while going about my business (escaping, docking) suddenly one or two System Security Vessels will spawn directly in front of me. Now I either end up ramming them and being scanned, or narrowly missing them, boosting away, and still being scanned because they where far to close.

Seems there is no way of escaping them at this point, or am I missing something? Tried deploying weapons and targeting them, but no luck with that either.

Yes: they spawn sometimes in front of you and if accidentally collide with them you get a bounty too...

Having said that, the only way to run without being scanned is to boost with a ship whose top speed is over 350 (an asp, a cobra, a phyton a cutter or a clipper), with max power to engine (+4).

I have a fully A-specced ASP with 4 pips to engine and 2 to systems, still can't escape scan if they spawn in my face. One is OK, as I can sometimes break their scan by targetting them, but two is just not possible, at least as far as I can see.

Was enjoying smuggling, but not so sure about random NPC spawning, doesn't exactly add to the challenge, just adds a percentage chance of failure that I can't do anything about.

Use a Cobra Mk III. Strip it down, fit it for max speed and cargo capacity, no shields, you'll be able to do over 440 m/s even with full cargo. No security ship can catch you in normal-space if you boost and maneuver properly.

My bad, couldn't find it in the smuggling threads, thought it might be new :) Seems like a bug to me though, surely "face spawning" is not really a fair tactic. I can outrun and outfly most NPC's (not all that difficult), but not if I ram them first :p

Two ways to deal with police dropping in at station instance:
1. shoot them
2. log to main menu and back

Usually don't like option 2 as it smells of cheating, but if someone spawns in my face and I ram them, I wouldn't feel too bad about it!
