Sneaky (and good) changes to haulage missions or did I just get lucky?

I just came back from a break of a few months here and tonight I wanted to take advantage of the 2x Federation Rank to finish unlocking the Federal Corvette. I set off for the Lung system as it is a refinery economy and it is currently in the boom state. I also have good rep with the factions in that system. So off to Hopkins Landing I go.

Tonight I was able to consistently find missions in the 3.5-6.5MCr range from Lung to the Ross 33 system along with many others in the 1-2MCr range to the same system. This never happens to me. I was able to spend the whole evening doing fairly lucrative haulage in my Anaconda and I not only finished unlocking Rear Admiral, but I made a good 80MCr just doing the haulage missions. It was really fun!

Did something change on the servers over the past few months for the mission boards or did I just get lucky tonight? Many times before I've looked for systems in Boom state where I have good rep with the factions but it still often proved fruitless which has been one of my chief frustrations with the game. Spending time aimlessly looking for decent missions is the antithesis of fun. If I could have more evenings like this I'd be really happy (I am more excited that I found good missions tonight than I am about unlocking the Corvette).

In any event, thanks Frontier for the double rank and the discounts! Thank you for the bonus Arx as well. I made a good bit of coin, fought off waves of Deadly Anacondas (some variety with NPC's would be good), and ended up the evening with a shiny new Federal Corvette (at a discount no less). Most fun I've had in Elite in a while. And yeah, took the Vette out for a quick Haz-Res spin before bed. Not bad! Not bad at all. She has teeth!

Once you have good rep in your home system and surrounding systems, missions become quite lucrative. Nowadays I only do missions with rare mat rewards 'cos I enjoy engineering the outta my ships. But I still get paid pretty well in credits too.

The corvette is great for running missions: tons of room so I can do two or three missions simultaneously, and it does not have a belly on it like the anaconda, so I don't scrape the letterbox anymore. 👍

And if built good, you can even sneak in a pirate assassination mission or two if available, as icing on the cake.

It think this really depends on the system. I've been allied/max influence in systems before and been offered insultingly low-pay missions. We're talking less than 1MCR for trips requiring hundreds of jumps, or killing elite NPCs with authority involvement, etc.

Hmmm. My home base is hi tech and pledged to the Federation, I've been trade Elite for a while now, I'm allied with all the surrounding systems after running hundreds if not thousands of missions to and from all of the surrounding systems. I also favour large ships so I can mission stack. Could be a combination of all that that gives me so many primo missions? 🤔

Yeah I have been Elite in trading and Exploration forever and have been playing this game for a few years now. I didn't do anything different than I usually do but I had an unusually good string of missions from Lung to Ross 33 for the whole evening. I know Frontier often silently tweaks things server-side so I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed something different. In any event I'll see if this holds for my next play session or if I just got lucky last night.
