Sneaky underhand strategies

Will you be able to take a freighter/passenger ship, fit it out with some concealed weapons, at the cost of cargo/passengers, and then blast some unsuspecting pirate raider out of the universe when he happens across your "vulnerable" ship?

Maybe a useful tool for bounty hunters or the pirates themselves could sit around sending out distress signals.

To what extent will you be allowed to deceive people?

as in WW2 convoys to trick uboats? Sounds good to me.

Cloaking devices would be more sneaky. Have your Freighter surrounded by a dozen friends in cloaked fighters. Once you've reeled in the pirates who think they've scored a big fat defenseless prize.... well, you know what comes next

Hopefully cloaking devices will be in-game somewhere down the line.

Pretty sure cloaking devices have been ruled out, you will however be able to shut down systems and drop off the radar. Weapons will be concealed in this game so it's completely plausible for you to arm yourself to the teeth. That said there will be more advanced scanners so being completely hidden and sneaky may be difficult. It's going to take a lot of practice to remain hidden and spring the perfect ambush

Talking of sneaky underhand tactics, i think our forum has recently been getting spammed by members of a social media company that want to turn Elite: Dangerous into a 'new facebook'!

I just can't approve of this tactic.
