The soft-lock bug for the mission board requires every faction to offer at least one unacceptable mission to (mostly) avoid triggering it. This one is pretty unacceptable, so it works until they can get a proper client patch out.

I did not read the forums but have seen such missions in the game. I even wished to pay to see what linked mission it will produce. And it looked like a bug: I have credits, reputations but can't accept the mission. Can't we get some mission description like "this is not a real mission, this is workaround for the softlock. Fly safe cmdr! o7".
Given how much I dislike the "Press [X] to launch" and the now "Press [Y] to disengage" messages, I'm gonna say no.
It is my dream to one day have enough wonga to complete one of these missions!

Except the first time I saw one I was in Noguchi Terminal, which is where you base yourself if you want to park your mining ship next to a certain triple LTD hotspot*.
It didn't seem entirely unthinkable that Frontier might insert missions to sucker players out of their overabundance of credits.
At any rate, that's my excuse for being fooled.
* Okay, any of the three L stations within 50 Ls of Panorua. Don't quibble.

This is kind of like when you see an eBay auction for a $15 item and the seller has priced it at $999.99 because it's out of stock and they don't want people to buy it but they also don't want to remove their auction.

i get what you are saying but really why should they?
it is not that outrageous to see a crazy mission and assume it is a crazy mission, rather than see a crazy mission and then search through all dev posts on a forum which you may only visit very occasionally just on the off chance it isnt a crazy mission at all but a bandage to fix a bug.
maybe what they should have done is added a temporary new mission template for all of these missions with a wording that "this is a bandaid fix to the mission board and is not a mission to take on". But given what we have seen so far maybe even dooing things like that are complex with the current code base ?
Meantime in my fantasy world:
500 pax is a new mission that was released in advance for mistake that was developed for a new ship able to actually carry 500 passengers. Alternatively it's a mission dedicated to a new type of Fleet Carrier produced exclusively for public transport.
I mean... if a shieldless Beluga can carry 184 passengers, a Blue Whale could definitely do more!

Funny how this forum is "a tiny and unrepresentative fraction of the ED player-base" when it comes to some things but it's also, apparently, the defacto place where players are supposed to come to find information too.
It's either an important part of the ED community or it's not.
If it is then the trends expressed here are worthy of consideration or, OTOH, if it isn't then shouldn't be the place where people should expect to find critical information about the game.
Pick a lane.
On topic, I dunno why FDev didn't just label these missions - in-game - as "Update Workarounds" and have a mission description explaining why they're there and advising people NOT to actually take them.
