So...about 'Rock Work'...

Three weeks ago, I had no idea 'Rock Work' was a thing. If someone had said 'Rock Work' to me, I'd have probably done The Horns at them, or played an air geetar, or something equally embarrassing.

So, about this Rock Werk (twangly geetar riff) thing then - how are you supposed to do it. I feel there's a knack, and I spend far too long twiddling the rocks about to make planes and wotnot. Is that it? Is that what you do? For ever? Does it get quicker?

The two pics below are my efforts.

gigglesnorts I did a bum.

Edit:- For being tremendously rude! Sorry about that ;)

For the most part I let the terrain do most of the work. The Flatten to Surface tool is amazing for creating rock like terrain. Then I fill in with rocks, often sinking them at least 1/2 way into the terrain. I also always use align to surface, and occasionally the advanced edit (with the X key).
