Firstly, let me say that it's great that we've finally got something other than Palin's pathetic CR racks to haul Thargoid stuff around with.
But still....
A while back I had a good old moan about the fact that the (purchase-locked) Cobra Mk4 is the best ship for hauling Thargoid stuff around.
Somebody at FDev must be having a right old laugh at the fact that this new C4 cargo rack effectively makes the CM4 ridiculously adept at hauling Thargoid stuff.
Previously, a player with access to the CM4 could have fitted 4 of Palin's racks - something no other small ship could do, and which required the use of a Python (at roughly 25 times the cost) to achieve.
Now it's even better.
A CM4 owner can bung 4 x C4 CR racks in their ship, along with everything else required to collect the stuff and safely carry 64t of corrosive stuff in a ship that costs around Cr4m to put in the air.
So that's smashing. [rolleyes]
But there's more to it than that.
A lot of people were deliberately using small ships to move Thargoid stuff around because a small, fast, ship (fitted with EPTs) can outrun the 'goid shut-down beam.
Trouble is, those ships don't, as a rule, have any C4 slots.
Would it have completely broken the game to introduce C2 and C3 CR racks, as well as the C4 rack? [sad]
