So about these OC+AL Pre-Engineered Enhanced AX Multi-Cannons

Is the unimpressive extra damage worth the much higher heat and power draw these
things cause? Making you easier to be targeted than with the non engineered ones?
Or am I missing something? o7

21% extra sustained DPS is hardly 'unimpressive extra damage'.
Sorry, not worth +300% heat and +75% power draw to me.
If it was 51% extra sustained DPS, I would be impressed.
Fdev can't get their numbers right if it stared them in the face.
 
Use it with a TV beam or heat sinks.

That's what I did when I go titan bombing.

I have 6 fitted to my PMKII used for base AX combat.
No room for beams. The 6 non engineered EAXMC were
more than enough to kill everything around Jameson. I
was just questioning the lopsided stats of the engineered
ones. They are what they are I guess.

I'm sticking to the old ones. I don't like the extra heat and
draw of the CG ones.

I guess FDev is really allergic to power creep. Almost every new module they introduce comes with a rather hefty negative attribute.

Yeah but these are crappy human excuses for AX weapons. This was another Fdev missed opportunity to make AXMCs halfway decent. Especially with that stupid AntiGuardian field crap they nerfed G weapons with. SMH

Can these engineered ones be sold once collected? Even the storage space they waste is more useful.

Can be sold, but they’re worth 0 Cr
 
I also take issue with the overcharged engineering on the module. G1 is 30% increase in damage, that means this version OC is even weaker than G1!

51% on a weapon you can slot 6 of. So you effectively get 3 extra weapons worth of damage!? I'm going to say it's you who can't get your numbers right.

The tiny amount of thermal load generated by the weapon, which although is 300% more is only 1.12, which is still lower than the majority of weapons the same size. Can easily be mitigated in multiple ways.

It's fair enough if you don't want to use them though. I'm going to swap out my Class 3 "normal" enhanced AX Multi-cannon for one.

It would be so gamey if everything new was always better like the worst excesses of bad 1930’s space opera or Hollywood.

Are there any modules you can’t sell for what you paid in credits?

So 300% extra heat has brought the heat value up to 1.12 and this is a disaster?
I knew there was a reason I liked Coriolis with it’s more intuitive layout and disturbing stuff discretely out of the way.
 
For a more relatable context, 1.17 is the value of thermal load of a standard G5 oc multi with an incendiary experimental shoved in. I highly doubt this is breaking any builds.

Sure, its not providing G5 damage, but is this needed against Thargoids when the standard enhanced multis are already doing a fine job?
 
I use them on all my evacuation builds - eh, I'm not always that good with ECM timing and 4.5-9M per run is a good bonus. OC AXMCs chew hunters very quickly, not much longer than the cooldown after hyperdiction...
