So, After Seven Years, I Finally...

Tried the Robigo/Ceos to Sothis runs.

The late-night infomercials said millions and millions. Wow!

I built a nice Passenger Python. Very nice, good mix of cabins, engineered like crazy.

Generally, it works as described on the forums and You Tube. Stack passenger runs to the Sirius Atmospherics beacon at Sothis 5A, scan, and return passengers.
The Robigo mines runs pay more, but require more jumping. The Ceos runs are only one jump there, but pay less (on average). Building rep to get better paying runs is simple.

The runs with high-value target pax (passengers), or criminal pax pay the most. Don't Get Scanned. So, I avoided them, being the cowardly hound I am.

But, some passengers don't tell you everything... :(

You can fill in the details.

I managed to land with 74% hull, and a bounty. It's a tribute to my engineering that I managed to land. Paid bounty. Then, I got dumped 300 light years away, after failing all my stacked missions. Ouch.

You only get to do that to me once.

I'm going back to mining again. Rocks don't talk back.

I still miss the good old days of smuggingly slaves back into the bubble from Robigo. A good time was had by alll (*), although I never really understood how there came to be so many slaved there in the first place.

(*To be fair, I never canvassed the slaves on that matter).

I've only done a few hours of Sirius Atmospherics runs from robigo/ceos myself. But I agree with your assesment. Decent money, don't get scanned, and drink some coffee or other 'wake me up' beverage before hand. I am still working on my combat rank, fed rank, and after that my empire rank. I am Master, 31% Post Captain, 71% Baron, so I have a long ways to go yet.

If we want quick missions for good cash, with decent eng mats, we know where to go.

I'm pretty sure I never bothered with it, but just in case I did, it apparently was far from memorable. As far as cheesing goes, I did do few of those Sothis/Ceos cargo runs back to the bubble for a few hundred M (lot of money back in that time) and those two systems you can use for Empire reputation.

I was never scanned during pax runs from Robigo Mines. Just stacked everything they've got and ran with it. Could it be that outposts never scan in general?

Get allied with the controlling faction, and use a beluga or a dolphin. Then you never get scanned, so no bounties or problems.

Practise getting in and out of Sirius Atmospherics as quickly as possible. You can leave as soon as you've scanned the beacon. The less time you spend there the less likely it is that bounty hunters will show up.

Also, fit heatsinks. Bounty hunters have to scan you to detect illegal passengers, and you can break the scan with a heatsink.

In hundreds of runs I've had a (very) few supercruise interdictions but only once did I encounter bounty hunters in the Sirius Atmospherics instance: I popped a heatsink and escaped unmolested.

The beacon turnaround is pretty easy. My near-demise was by Feds, right in front of the Ceos toaster rack.

I have heatsinks on all my passenger ships for a reason.... (y) :)

Edit: just remembered, I did once get scanned as I arrived with passengers back at Hauser's Reach ... but as I say, heatsinks.
