So anybody found Raxxla yet?

Who'd have thought that Raxxla is a cleaning detergent meant to clean smeared Cockpit Glass? :D

No wonder half the Galaxy has been searching for it.

Just curious, don'tcha know ;).

I cannot help but wonder if FDev made a bunch of changes to exploration so that somebody would just find it already . . .

Ponder this: If Raxxla really is a "star-gate" of sorts and can transport ships to another galaxy, this could open up a whole new procedural-generated galaxy for players to explore. Andromeda, anyone?

I doubt it exists in the game and reckon it is a clever business plan to keep ppl drawn into the game and once sales start to dwindle then the devs will put something there. Once that is discovered something else will be a mystery and the circle begins again. But you never know. It reminds me of the myth of the thargoid in Elite Frontier that never existed.. or did it?

Aparently one commander has then refused to elaborate on any info , most likely just trolling i would guess ... he had another topic asking (demanding) fdev move his ship from a system he got stuck in after doing a boosted jump which required a 200+ jump range to leave .. fdev caved and moved his ship.

I remember the thread. I'm exactly 100% certain that person had not found it.

I'm not so sure about a clever business plan, but it wouldn't surprise if it is partly just an impossible mystery just to keep a sense of wonder among explorers.

How many Elite games have there been... four? I understand it didn't exist in the other three, so I do occasionally think that myself. But for now I'm keeping my faith in it existing, but being underwhelming one found.

When I was very new to ED, I tried to explore and stumbled upon Raxxla by accident. Since I didn't know what Raxxla was at the time, I left without bookmarking it. Now I don't remember where I was.

Just kidding of course (I didn't find Raxxla). :p

It wasn't in:

The Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, BBC Master, BBC Compact, Commodore 64, ZX-Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Apple II, BBC Master Edition, BBC 6502 2nd Processor, BBC Master, IBM/PC, Atari ST, Amiga, MSX, NES or the Acorn Archimedes. Nor was it in Elite, Elite Plus, Frontier: Elite II or Frontier: First Encounters on all platforms.

It was mentioned in a short Novella the Dark Wheel written by Robert Holdstsack in 1984. That launched a hundred other great writers writing about it. Read it as you desire.

The Dark Wheel

So the quest for finding Raxxla would be disappointing if some noob player ever stumbled across it in Elite Dangerous. Me, I'm more into awaiting the major Hollywood motion picture of " Elite: The Movie". It doesn't seem that Frontier wants to go there. I'll need to win 500 million in the lottery to work on this...and the really great directors are getting old!

Well...Maybe 2021...
