So, I'm still quite new to the game but I've been reading through the little Galnet articles lately. A few of the articles seem to be at least somewhat important in that they state the systems where major events such as Thargoid attacks or certain bases are found. At some point though it would seem these articles will go away come next month or whatever. Then what, how will people know about these locations or story beats? Shouldn't there be some kind of timeline in the game or something like that. I'm still new so perhaps I'm missing something. I have so much respect for the space simulation aspect of the game and enjoy the game overall. Nevertheless, little things like this are just so baffling to me. I mean, the devs of this game seem like pretty smart people, this seems like such a simple quality of life thing that would enhance the game. I know this may seem like a small complaint but I am just so baffled, I can't emphasize that word enough. This just seems like something so basic that should be in a game. I've heard a codex may be coming in 2.4 and Beyond and if that is true I'm left wondering how something so simple like this has taken three years. I just don't get it.
To go on a slight tangent, when I listen to Sandro Sammarco, David Braben, Lawrence Oldham and others speak, they remind me of all the really technically minded people I know or have met. These people tend to be perhaps a little socially awkward or "weird", if you will. I feel as though the game may need a few people on the opposite end of that spectrum in lead positions to help add balance. Hopefully this makes sense to some of you.
