They can basically just cut out the last sentence of the ship description about being limited to one fighter and nothing will change. Hopefully they don't just do that and instead add a bunch more info about the ship. But does this mean there is no difference between our ships and the Navy ships?

Absolutely, was just wondering when I read the topic. HazRES is already kindergarten with an engineered Corvette and SLF. Get two elite SLF and you could even go unarmed, just sitting there and watching.... :D

Get 1 SLF and you can go in unarmed, or entirely without a Corvette to soak up damage, just the SLF. I farily often just park my corvette a ways away and pilot the SLF myself, can take down an elite python without any issues, really SLF are just OP.

really SLF are just OP.

Not only SLF, the whole Engineers story is. E.g. my former plain vanilla Anaconda with 7D thrusters and 7B shields felt like a flying coffin. I was a sitting duck for any deadly or elite engineered NPC bigger than a FAS. After upgrading to 7A thrusters it was somewhat better, but after having them engineered to G3 DD - my teeth, this was a completely different ship! Together with some G3 to G5 mods on weapons, shield generator and boosters the 'conda eventually became a real beast. Then she ended serving as an organ donor for my 'vette - this ship may have slightly less DPS on paper, but those class 4 MC eat up everything.

From time to time I used to complain about OP NPC pirates and eventually I decided to got the Horizons Extension myself, just for being able to strike back. Now I know that my complaining was spot-on, engineered ships are just so ridiculous god-mode-like, at least in PvE. It's just a silly arms race, that's for sure.
