So Ed's Discovery Scanner series! So far what would the public like to see

whilst yet another update has caused the predictible backlash of
"wah, I have to git gud with new ruleset which will impact my game until I git gud" riding the wave and masking actual decent critical and positive feedback.

Let's chill to another Discovery Series Episode.
What would you like to see?

Ship design (internal, external, module and weapons, flight model, balance(pve, pvg, pvp), ship launched fighters etc etc)
Hey look there is the Krait as a perfect example, cough cough. or the chieften or type10 (and how it fits into the story as well)

What about the background sim?
And how flow of materials in the bubble help influence factions, super factions, missions.
In fact missions and going into mission creation (for example) could help provide the public with some idea of what is going on, and maybe generate some nice feedback for the dev's to plan, especially with the up and comming changes and love to the 'careers' during 3.0

The background sim, could also help show of the Procedural generation of which Art assets are used and how those assets need to be designed and planned to work together say for example the
Module station Design of the outposts, planetary layout, station facilities and services (and any considerations for future visions of the game).

What would you like to see?

I'd like to see Ed find High Grade Signal Sources and enough G5 materials to engineer a ship start to finish!
Ah maybe that's for Ed's next 24hr stream... ;)

Id like to see a healthy and varied mission board that I dont need to flip into solo to get something half decent from...and the best missions still spawn in solo btw...happens far too often to be mere coincidence ^

I'd like to see something to discover.

I would like to see him, with a mostly-blacked-out screen, show us that Raxxla exists in game. Something along those lines.

I have noticed this as well, and agree that it seems to be more than just dumb luck.

I'd like to see a deep, in-depth look under the hood - at the Cobra Engine's inner workings - model importing, skinning (texture baking, or whatever it is they do to make ships look like ships), mission building, and all the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey things that make Elite tick.

I'd be especially interested in knowing how the ships are textured. I've heard it's mostly vectors and not actual texture maps but aside from the decals I don't know if that's factually correct.
