So far, I'm impressed. But what of the future?

So far, I'm pretty impressed with this game. Whether or not I'm £50 impressed though is another matter.

I quite like the visuals and the sound. I'm wondering if the female voice is DB's wife though...

The concept, is of course, reminiscent and quite nostalgic. I've always liked the idea of just popping the hood and going on a proper mission; so the game's concept it enjoyable. I miss the weird quirky faces from the Amiga version, but still, I don't miss them enough to pee myself over.

I like that there isn't a cheesy narrative to the game, like previous pretenders to the throne, but I would like to see how player created narratives develop over time. It would be interesting if there was some way players could utilise the docks newsfeeds (Obviously, with some kind of pre-ordained vetting system to stop just any old pleb writing whatever they want).

I dunno... I haven't browsed around much on here as of yet... I will do, but it would be interesting to see what is in the pipeline and what one could potentially do. I personally would like my own planet. I would love to have planet Megalopolis where women lick my toes and Horses chant my name. Will Smith would be my bodyguard and lakes wouldn't have any wee in them.

I think it has a great platform. Well done to the programmers. I look forward to the future. :)

Now give me my gold plated goat!

For the time being they'll be continuing to add / improve features, there should be a broad story arc going on by the sound of things, and the background simulation is intended to produce events based on player actions in aggregate relative to the circumstances of system governments (famines, civil wars, expansions, etc). At this point it's not clear how much of the background sim is in though, so this may be something that is on the books to be expanded further after release.

Later there'll be paid expansions to allow landing on planets, flying through atmospheres and associated additional content making use of those features, and likewise for walking around ships, stations and planets in first person and associated content for that. At those things are strictly post-release and were always planned to come later we don't yet know full details on what they might entail beyond the obvious yet.
