So fighters..

Accidental hit on a ship, assualt bounty (no problem) but obviously system security attack and the fighter in defensive mode will push the bounty to something bigger so now I'm locked out a CG for 24hrs.

Ah yes. That can be annoying.

The new C&P isn't in game yet, so you can (probably) still do the suicide trick. Or just do one of the other 4 combat CGs.

I'm currently at 50% or higher in all 5. Lol

We should have a setting to prevent our pilots from ever attacking authority ships.
I never fire at them and I would not want my pilot to do so either.
In real life you would talk this through with your crew and forbid them to fire at cops.

Aw no ye dont...Ive never owned fighters until I built an exploration keelback and what I went through getting it to jacques still gives me night termors and I wake up 5 times a night in cold sweats with the memory. Only bought them to use fer canyon racing which really is the whole point of them imo...no changes to them until I get to jacques and have had my fun...certainly waited long enough fer it ^

Good idea. We need a ROE setting for our crew.
Accidents will still happen, but a few simple check boxes would go a long way to reducing the fallout.

A simple toggle for legal actions or illegal actions in the functions menu might work, along with an audio confirmation on launch.
Legal only would set the crew to only return fire if it's legal to do so. Even if it means they'll be shot down.
Illegal would let then return fire regardless.

Isn't this already in game by basically having to force the fighters to target non hostile ships? I normally micro manage my fighters though so I might be a bit less prone to having them "accidently" attacking cops.

Map keys to fighter control. I have one set to dock and they will break off the attack when they receive that one. I also have defensive, offensive, and focus target mapped. I took another player down to 1 percent hull like this the other day.

It is, but if you, or your fighter accidentally agro's security, your fighter, if set to fire at will, or defend, will go after security, even though it's illegal.
So a simple toggle to disable illegal activities me as they'd continue shooting the wanted target, or just do nothing and explode. Lol
But then atleast you won't rack up loads of assault bounties.
