So, first impressions of Thargoid weaponry?

- Do they ignore shields?
- Do they melt armour
- Do they ignore conventional weapons (their ECM seems to be working well)
- What weapons DO work against them

- Do they ignore shields?

Yes and no. I think they work like the engineering phasing mod. I.e. some damage gets through the shields. However, my hull went down much faster after my shields went down so I think shields are still very useful against them. Also they fire what appear to be missiles and shields really protect against those...

It's really hard to tell because your scanners don't work and you can't see how much damage you're doing.

What weapons DO work against them

Pretty much everything this guy said.

Hopefully we'll be able to have working scanners after the CGs complete on Thursday. And weapons.

Im all for the weapons if I need to defend myself from them but otherwise I hope we get to learn more about them through maybe specialized scanners or actual communication. Im rather intrigued.

While the weaponry isn't what I expected, its still extremely lethal. We had a smaller ship engaged for 45 mins before we had to withdraw. The thargons seem to be able to switch from fighter to missle and kamikaze into you.

Edit:The point defences do attack thargons in missile mode.

Got to say though, the most lethal of their weapons from what I've seen is the explosives. The Thargoids missiles are decently powerful. The Thargon (suicide?) explosives are devastating.

-Shields somehow work (not for long), but they let pass some of the damage.
-They don't melt armor, but they hammer on it pretty hard, also they put corrosive substance on it
-All my weapons were inefecctive sofar, i could not detect any damage done
-No idea of last one

Ran a shieldless hull tanked FAS against them and they really didn't damage the hull that much. Most of the damage came from ramming them but they did spam missiles that had some kind of corrosive effect on modules. PD seemed to work and AFMU helped to mitigate it.
Not sure if ramming the Thargons/Thargletts/Swarmlings destroyed them or not or whether they became the missiles. Certainly seemed to thin them out a bit.
They didn't seem to very accurate with their lasers anyway so it was hard to tell if chafe or SR had any effect.
EMP was similar to a Thargoid base and I wasn't shut down at all.
My observation so far anyway.

Well, research drones work well at ripping their hull's apart [and somewhat annoying them to the point of slapping you six ways from sunday in the process] lol.
