So frustrating all CG profits gone in one ED coding stuff up.

I have permission to dock. I have just lined up with the letter box. I gently begin acceleration. They I hear somebody boosting. Bang somebody has crashed into me. Suddenly the station opens fire and I am instantly destroyed. 512 tons and my Cutter (37 mil rebuy). I basically got ganked. I didnt know that was supposed to happen in solo? I now have less credits than when I started this CG.

You must have been speeding.

I thought I was barely moving, I guess I must have been speeding then. So, If I'm under 100 and a ship boosts into me and destroys itself, They would not open fire on me. Is that correct?

Security has been shooting at ships every time I have been to that station, so I thought maybe it was one of them (maybe security) that hit me.

Nothing you can do about an NPC appearing and hitting you. My experience is that I go straight to the rebuy screen without the station firing. Even more annoying when you are auto docking.

Stay below 100 m/s and you should be safe from station-vengeance. Some caution should still be observed while docking/launching.

First rule of any CG >>>>>>>>> SOLO

If the impact pushed you over 100 ms and they died maybe...
I'm almost certain they died but I dont think they would have pushed a cutter. I'm guessing it was something like a system authority viper, engaged in combat. I have been shot at a few times during his CG even whilst empty going to pick up, not sure they were evan aiming at me.

Almost certainly collided with and destroyed an NPC while moving 100m/s or faster. Check the logs to be sure.

Even if they were moving faster, even if they rammed your CMDR's ship, even if they are already damage, if they are destroyed by the collision, your CMDR is automatically legally culpable if speeding.

Agreed on the (accidental, no doubt) speeding being the reason for your demise.

(Also, if you want to be able to declare that something which happened to you in the game is a "coding stuff-up" then you're going to want to record all gameplay so you can review/share it later.)
As for this bit:
I now have less credits than when I started this CG.
...don't sweat it - even at only 512 t capacity, a mere 3 runs will have you comfortably back in the black (unless your chosen commodity is aluminium in which case maybe a little longer).

The autodocking computer is likely to avoid these situations.

(I myself don't use it in any ship, with the exception of the PC2 and this CG. It's so much more convenient.)
