It made these funny noises on the spin cycles, like a cavitating submarine.
I looked at the big box it came in. It said "Lakon Diamondback Explorer".
No wonder it had cigarette butts all over the inside.
It flies like a washing machine, too. The DB Scout is lovely to fly, even with all the noise. This is a truck. A truck that jumps 51 light-years (G5 mod). Only Class 1 pulse lasers on each mount, to save weight, and a shield booster.
With a max 4A fuel scoop, it takes longer to fill than the Asp Explorer, which I have now gotten up to a 45 light-year jump, (6A scoop, G5 mod FSD) fully outfitted and equipped on each mount and slot. 5A thrusters, for a 400+ meter/second boost. The yaw/pitch/roll rates are far superior.
And no competition for visibility, or maneuvering. The DBX has three large mounts, but the placement sucks for the ventral mount. Numbers count as well. The Asp Explorer has twice the number of mounts firing at the target, even though they are two mediums, and four small mounts. It can also cover a much greater field of fire.
I'll try some trial runs out in the black. There is no question about which one is the one for general-purpose use.
Embarrassing, for Lakon: My Cobra 4, Edsel, drives better...
