So I buy a type 7

Yes, found a decent trade route so I thinks I will buy a T7 and trade for a bit. Great idea, my home station in Alioth doesn't sell a T7. After searching around I finally find one in Amber. Ok, great stuff. Buy the T7 - go to outfitting screen. Not a great selection but whatever. Then I notice the maximum FS drive is too low powered to get the T7 back to Alioth. In fact its too low powered to even get it to the next system.

Of course I found this out after loading up and selecting Alioth to find no route available (its 13.8 ly or so away).

Many minutes of jiggery pokery later I find I can get a route but I need to fly without a shield or any cargo.

A nervous flight through several systems later I land at Irkutsk in Alioth - a nice Palm Tree Station that's high-tech. Should find what I need here since its my home station and it sells the Orca for a discount so it should have a decent equipment selection.

Yay..A5 FSD. Slotted for a cool 5m or so. Then I discover that the maximum Power Plant is A3. So now I can fit a maximum of 2 utilities and no weapons or I go over max power. Seriously? A3 is maximum at a High Tech station you need a permit to get to?

So...FD - PLEASE if a station sells a ship of a certain class can you at least be able to outfit it at the station so its usable? Otherwise don't offer the ship for sale there!

I did this in a T9. Had to sell the T9, lose 15 mil (or something like that) and then rebuy somewhere else where I could fit an FSD that would allow me to jump.

this is a true problem i agree, a new rule should be set:

- if a station sells a ship, it has to sell at least the module D FSD to allow the player to go away with his new ride.

PS.
It would help if one could check for availability of all classes of Equipment regardless of Internals present.
That way, one could check for available high-classed Upgrades before purchasing a big ride - then discover there's no useful Class 5-7 selection there at all.

yea, when we buy the "trade data" of a system, it should include all available ships and modules.
