So I decided to take my first trip...

...and I'm SOOOO glad I did!

Plan is to head to the Rosette Nebula. Why there? Well seemed good a choice as any, Rose is my little girl's middle name and it's conveniently just over 5000ly away. Less than an hour in i arrived in the California Nebula, and stumbled upon inhabited space! A little Alliance outpost, Mic Turner base.

There I find the Bark Mounds. And their Phloem Excretions, Mussidean Sead Pods, Cordycep Growths and Polyporous Growths. Totally worth Cr2k in fines to shoot them and collect the materials!

I'm now so excited for what else I'm going to find out there. This game is just brilliant, I'm like a child again, having such a blast...and there was me thinking I'd just be a combat pilot! I even have over Cr1.5mil in "honk" data already ( don't worry, I'm saving it for Sirius).

I've now got the bug, so when I get back will knock off the Guardians etc too.

Next up I strike out for the Jellyfish before swinging around to Rosette.

Love it!

Awesome! Yeah, there's lots to see. Hopping around to the various nebulae is something I've enjoyed too. I just love seeing it get bigger and bigger within the field of view, with each jump. And then once there, taking in the view with it filling the skies of some airless world.

there is a pretty cool asteroid base in the rosette nebula in a planetary ring, of course its a nice colour and plenty of landables with a nice view too :)

here's a video I made of the area (spoiler just incase) where I landed at new beginnings approx. 1.40

Nice, so cool to know that, Colonia aside, there are pockets of humanity so far out! I'm going to not watch the video though and find it for myself...thanks for the Spolier warning!

So I've made it to Rosette nebula, via the Jellyfish. Gone over 5300ly from start point but no message from Palin. Does this come later or only when I got to a certain system?

if you click on the engineers tab the invite should appear there (little message icon) you wont get an in-game message or anything

Keep on exploring!! There soooo much to see out there if you have the patience to head out into the black and just genuinely explore :) Such a fun experience, fly safe commander but don't be afraid to fly dangerous every now and then for those awesome perspective screenshots! ;)

I took my first long tourist haul outside the bubble, some 6000 Ly in one direction. Took me two working weeks to complete that. On top of it all, I forgot the client did not like being scanned ... guess what happened, twice? Oh well, the exploration data was over 24M credits worth, anyway ... you may call me Ranger nowadays! Here's my TomTom route map :)
