So I did 2 days worth of scans......

Only went about 1000 lt years out, not exactly as big as some of these guys have been pulling. Did see a couple neat things along the way that made me glad I did it (including a ringed Brown Dwarf that I mistook for a gas giant because it was roughtly the size of one and orbitting a standard Class M in line with other planets. Imagine my surprise when the detailed scan came back....)

Now, I'm OCD as hell so I had to scan EVERYTHING. And on the way back, I got stir crazy and just jumped the last 300 ltyrs without bothering to scan anything.

Final payout? Approx 2.5 million for 2 days of work and a rather sizable number of objects out there that should now have my name carved on them. Went from Surveyor to Trailblazer with that run.

Not sure I'm gonna do it again soon. I found it rather dull even with music. It'll have to be something bigger than a cobra. When you want to get back or to a particular system fast, 22 Ltyrs a jump just isn't far enough

I took about 2 week to go 1,300, and I still have to do another 1,300 to get back.

Are you saying you did 1,000Ly a day? (no dig on you, just checking relativity to what I would do)

Some explorers go system to system and scan everything, others make long jumps and just look for earth-like planets, or make long jumps to a certain sector then explore more carefully. I drink beer and doodle around at random.

I do about 1000Ly a day, granted i'm not working at the moment but hell. :)
I'm not as ocd as you guys but is still scan anything of interest that comes along

Well, first 400 Ltyrs I saw a lot of claimed planets so I only scanned things that caught my fancy. But when I stopped seeing names on anything, I scanned everything. Got tired of it and atsy to see my name on stars shortly after 1000Ltyrs out and turned around, intending to scan everything on the way but my patience wore thin.

Now, to be fair, I mostly jumped my max jump range which usually went from 17 to 22 ltyrs depending on the stars available in the area (and the area was thick with M stars so I was never short on fuel).

As for the number of days? Well, they were my days off, so I had plenty of time. I didn't count the pages, but I had enough to go from 1 mil to 3.5. (My original post will be corrected, it was actually closer to 2.5 million when I looked again)

Each page of data averaged 400k give or take a few thousand depending on what was on the page. Not sure if that figure included the discovery bonuses, although I'm inclined to think it didn't.
