So I finally figured out how to succeed at this game!

To the OP, I don't know why people put themselves through this, I've just come back from an enjoyable trip some 70,000ly and saw some really cool things and crazy systems.

Could of done all this in a Hauler with an outlay of 2 mil...

Just cashing in may data with my feet up and a beer, 12 mil credits earned and loads more data to sell. Why do people do the grind?

Nutter. I agree totally. I am out exploring for 3 weeks now. Lots of fun. Very addictive. For some reason... not boring at all. I have even seen some systems explored by you... ;-)

I am a bit tired of people calling the game broken or imbalanced because they either cannot grind fast or find some careers less profitable. I dont even care much how much money I get when I come back.

1. Find a closely paired contact binary star with a letterbox sized gap between them.
2. Fly through the gap between them in supercruise repeatedly.
3. Goto 2.

Well, I find it a fun thing to do. Never mind. Carry on.

I tried it too... all it got me was scorched paintwork and it set my hair on fire

Bill

Now... coming out of FSD between contact binaries ... I went straight to brown alert  :D

Because some people don't enjoy the other professions but are forced in to trading because it's the only way to earn consistent cash to afford the bigger ships.

Trading is the only professions that scales, buy a bigger ship, hold more cargo, make more money. Exploration can be done the same in a hauler or an asp where you should be able to get scanner upgrades to reduce scanner times.

Combat roles shoot the same ship for the same money whether they're in a sidewinder or an anaconda but FD market it as a combat game.

This is why it's a grind for some players, for traders it's fun but for others it's a grind. I personally find exploration more boring than trading but it's horses for courses.

I know there is a perceived imbalance of income between the various but limited tasks ingame.

The real question is, what is FD planning to about it.
