So I got the headset, and only the headset, 2nd hand for a ridiculously amazing price.
I wonder if I can pick your minds to verify a few things given I will need to get power and cables sorted myself.
Having researched things a little I have come to understand that the link box is not necessary particularly since I don't intend on doing room scale VR with the base stations and nor do I need the hand controllers.
Ergo, would it be accurate to suggest that all I really need to power and connect the device are a long usb and hdmi cable and find the correct power supply to plug in directly to the vive?
Having had a look around re the power supply I understand that the official power adapter is a 12v 1.5a unit.
Would this power adapter work? Its not exactly the same in terms of the output plug but carries the same voltage and whilst a little higher on amps surely that shouldnt be a problem?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019RO949C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AV7KSH7XB8RNM&psc=1
Or would there be a more suitable and better adapter?
Given I'm doing this on the cheap would it be reasonable to expect that I could use any standard HDMI and USB connectors?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
