Newcomer / Intro so I got some narcotics.... how do I sell them?

so, after flying around a few hours really not knowing what to do, I dropped into some "unknown site" and found some wanted pirates. Great... I killed them, found some cans and got some fish and 3 cans of narcotics (don't ask, I just pick the junk up). Seeing how I'm a noob and only had 1000 credits, I picked them up to make credits as drug dealer. So I go to a alliance station (feds outlaw the product) and go to commodities but I can't see to sell anything. Not only the narcotics but the fish either. Am I missing something? I read somewhere about a black market but I can't seem to find that anywhere (went jumping around 4 systems looking for a station with that service).

Any suggestions?

Search for a station that has a black market (in the contacts tab of the station services.) They'll buy anything.

I might be wrong about this, but in the Empire it may be possible to sell this on the open market???

Oooh, and try this at outposts. You can land at larger stations, but if they scan you, they'll turn your ship in to scrap at the amusement of other pilots.

Anarchy systems are less likely to have security forces that will scan you...but more likely to have pirates who attack you. Stations in anarchies with black markets are good places to sell stuff without needing to mess with silent running.

I would advise if you are new and cannot 'sneak' (silent running) into a large station, don't go there. If you are scanned, a hefty fine will be issued if they are illegal at that station. Go to an outpost, you will not be scanned. Profits may not be a high, but the fine is usually more then you would make on the BM.

thanks for the quick reply. I thought about that as I was looking at the stations contacts before going to them to see if it was illegal. Alliance stations seem to allow it, but I cant sell. Thought you sold it under commodities, is this not correct? Guessing that black market is a different window. I'll have to fly around and see where I am at. I think I am in core fed space, idk... really green on this right now so I'm just flying around randomly.

Go to your galactic map and change the view to see governments, then find an Anarchy system, pretty much all Anarchy systems stations have a black market.

The black market is found under contacts section of station :)
