So I guess I'm nutters..

Got the vive last thursday, loving it (although I have few issues) but largely I'm loving it.

Was for a day or so thinking of sending it back after some of the Vive games lost it's appeal (seriously don't see myself playing the lab for 2000 hours..)
But room play is just too good to let go of, so I guess it's staying.

Oh, and yes, even with all the issues with elite, and the 32" ultrawide with the eyex-tracker is not a bad way to play the I kept feeling so remote from the game play than I was in VR.

But here is the "faeces. What am I doing?" bit.
I also replaced my order for the rift...

Congrats on the new gear Commander! :) Fallout 4 has been announced for the Vive in 2017, so that's another reason to keep it around. Can't wait to join you guys in the E: D Vive camp. Just waiting on the right offers for pc and Vive atm.

Fly safe

we (the people who enjoyed Elite in VR for some time now) told you so ;)
It is always slightly frustrating when I read someone claim "I will not jump on the VR bandwagon, because your highend VR headsets with their lowly resolution and visible pixels are just not comparable to my godly 12K tripple head setup with head tracker", as the only answer is "true ... the VR headsets are SO much better!", but they just won't hear.

Yeah, it's definetely a whole new ballgame, and not just for Elite.
In fact elite is probably one of the games with the most issues in VR yet, at least for the vive. But there isn't any going back at least not for me.

And I was mistaken, it's not last thursday I got it, but the week before (time has been a little blurry this past week)

Although I suppose it's starting to speak to my age that I haven't noticed I have been playing at 45fps in elite, at least when something interesting is going on..
Now after staring at a frame counter and frame timer, for an hour I can tell, but up until now I have actually been mostly ok with 45.

Addendum:

Obviously I'm curious about the CV1 as well (to the point of ordering it), estimatated shipping window is in August so I guess I will see when I will see.

I just tried something I read in another Vive related thread : ramp up the Steam SS to 2.0 using the chaperone switcher, and lower the *in-game* SS to 0.65. You'll get (no pun) stellar visuals and MUCH better performance!
