So I have got a question about those Horizons skins for the Cobra Mk III

What was the prerequisite for getting them?

Were they a pre-order bonus, or are they just part of Horizons whenever you buy the expansion?

Yeah, the Cobra Mk III got three skins, the same as the ones you see available in the store for the Cobra Mk IV.

Except on the Cobra Mk III.

Or they are special skins you get by going to elite/frontier booth on different events like gamecom, egx, pax east/west etc. Don't know because haven't take cobra 3 out in ages.

I realize the lifetime-pass is a bit of an excessive purchase, but I bought one (the second time it was available) even though it's unknowable if Elite will really continue development for enough years for the pass to pay for itself.

But since then I've come to think that the real value of the lifetime pass is not about the money gamble and more that I don't have to pay attention any more - I can put the game aside for months at a time, forget all about it, drop out of the community completely for a while. If there is any cool limited-time bonus stuff like (the pre-order paints) available during that time, then instead of coming back to find I missed out on something cool, I come back and find unexpected gifts waiting. Knowing I won't be missing out makes things more relaxed and fun, I don't feel like I should be doing anything unless I feel like doing it.

Just thought I'd throw that out as a general observation, in case FDev offers a lifetime pass again in the lead-up to Season 3.
To me the pass has been more useful than I expected. :)

It was a bonus for Horizons pre orders before Horizons' launch. They are pretty cool, I use the polar one.

Edit: I just realized how my sentence doesn't make sense. Of course the pre order was before launch. I'll leave it :D
