So I interdicted a Harmless Cmdr Sidewinder...

I see you're trying the "hearts and minds" approach for a change. Always fun when you pull someone that's too new to even know to be scared.

Wow, that is certainly "thinking out of the box". Never thought to interdict a new player and be friendly! May have to try that for some conversation versus the ones who run away when they scan me. Then again we may be doing a disservice to new players as they may get complacent with interdictions in an expensive ship with limited rebuy funds thinking they might be friendly!

Worked in security a while back. Everyone petted this pigeon. It thought all Humans were wonderful. One night we had a security guy transferred over. Pigeon came along and stood right in his path expexting food or petting. He kicked it so hard it flew 50 feet in the air and dropped right back down. Dead.

Never fed pigeons after that.

I would have serious issues with that new guard. Reminds me of the movie "The Green Mile" with Tom Hanks and the character Percy Wetmore who kills the mouse...The problem is that Percys are welcome in Elite Dangerous! Hopefully they are too busy playing the game to kill live mice or people! ED could be saving real lives!

and he needs to go to see a doctor for hes issues....

Why interdict him?

If you wanted to give him a hand why not just direct message him in SC or at the station, maybe drop a wing invite... You know, normal stuff.

Another Hercules video thread. Seems there's like 3 or 4 a day now

You should have beat that guard into a coma. I would have. There's no tolerance for animal abusers.

Seriously I'm all for people doing whatever and acting like jerks in video games or to another person, but animal abusers deserve a special kind of hell for hurting innocent creatures. They really get under my skin.

Oh he was a boaster and a loudmouth, he no doubt had issues, but I`m afraid the real world in some areas is all too like this. Such is life.

Nope not how it works. The real world from friendly society just don`t work like that. It was quick it was sudden. It was a pigeon. Nothing else to be done. It is what it is.

I just can`t help but think that the guy who loves griefing living people in games on the net are not far removed from kicking a pigeon for the `fun` of it.

I would go further and say not removed at all. Some people receive pleasure from inflicting pain or discomfort. The idea that behaviour online doesn't reflect real disposition gets thrown around a lot, but ultimately the drive to treat others (or animals) in a certain way is very real.

Being a boaster was a given. Egotism is the other half of the condition.

Lol, he didn't really seem to want your help much. I will occasionally fly through Aravate if I'm in the area, just to watch everybody scatter.

One time we were on a local college campus, and a non local friend of ours was with us. He saw a rabbit and thought he would chase it for fun. However, the rabbit was so used to people, it just sat there, and he had to akwardly jump over it at the last minute, nearly falling down.

I think if you caught him on video you'll see thats exactly how it works. There are loads of stories of people getting totally screwed over because they 'kicked a pigeon' and someone caught them and let the authorities know.

Just because its a 'lesser' life form does not make it ok to go kicking and killing it. I'm with Phazon on this. I wouldn't care that it was a pigeon or a person that sec guard would have had a really bad day if I had witnessed that act.

Have often thought it would be fun to interdict a new CMDR, then hand them a couple of T of Painite or Low Temp diamonds, or something valuable - but not int he abandoning way, just a jettison. Then explain to them it's time they learned to smuggle... Then follow them along and see how they go...

This is an excellent idea! Gives them something to think about and do rather than just wondering if they are going to be murdered. Nice one!
