I mean, obviously they weren't expecting pvp in that situation, but to be fair they were in a combat zone, in a combat ship, in open. If you went and popped a trader type 6 or something where they obviously had no defense, and no money, that'd be one thing... But as far as unsanctioned pvp that's not bad.
