So, I Learned A Lesson Again Tonight...

I was sniffing about in the areas that Mahon was about to exploit, and something weird happened.

I lost my joystick bindings. Three Times. Bug report duly filed. Joystick fully operational (Thrustmaster Warthog), confirmed through Control Panel and other software.

I re-mapped it, and saved the game three times as well. The third time was inside a station in the Clee system. I managed to escape with only a 400 credit fine.

We need an un-docking computer. O Great Mistress Of AI's, how much chocolate do you want?

And here is the lesson: If there had been only *one* port in that system, I could have been locked out of that station. Thank Elvis for Outposts.

Paid my fine. Bindings held, this time.

PSA: If you have chosen a home system, choose one with multiple ports. Putting all of your ships in one basket is convenient- and an invitation to Murphy's Law. You can get locked away from all those pretty, and pretty expensive, ships that you have collected.

It took a lot of time and effort to collect all those discounted ships. Annoy my home port *just once*, and goodbye to tens of millions of credits.

I'm going to have to distribute my fleet further away from Roundboy, anyway. This is yet another incentive to *not* over-invest in ships. My explorers will be moving out further to the fringe. The others will be retreating about thirty light-years away from Dunkin Doughnuts.

I hate travelling to Lembava, then 9 Ceti, then to the T-1000 discount weapons systems. :( Learn from my mistakes.

You can also simply have pre flight checks turned on for now until it's fixed......it's annoying yes and time wasting but less than having a UA on board and your needing to be undocked right after an attack by it.....

The binding problem is one thing. Putting all your ships in one basket is a bigger problem. Ships are not liquid assets. Cash is.

Found out that the loss of bindings is a known bug. Support worked very quickly to let me know.

Distributed some ships last night. All in systems with two or more ports. Contributed a *lot* to the Sidewinder Appreciation Society. :(
