Shields off and starting with only 68% hull? FA off in high G is hard enough. Repped.
How did you have your controls configured? Where you using analogue thruster control or did you have to constantly tap an on/off control?
It looks like you landed on a rock, like I did in this clip which took out my shields even though I touched down at only 1m/s.

To overcome this, the game “cheats” and overcharges the vertical (up) thrusters and the main forward thrusters so that they always have 5m/s² over whatever the gravity is.
