So I purchased a shield regeneration module..

.... or whatever it's called. Why though does it need to be assigned to a fire group? Surely it should kick in automatically or at least let me bind it to a key.

Same thing with the chaff launcher would be much better if I could bind that instead of having to switch up my fire groups to use it.

You can bind them to a key - they're hidden somewhere in between all the binds, but they're there.

You do not need to assign it to a fire group. You can bind it to a key like the chaff launcher and heat sink.

The Shield cell is like an injector of sorts, wait till you're very low shields then boost, it'll fill your shields all the way up. The shields need to be active though, once they're down it won't help.

There is a key in the control you can bind it with. I can't remember where it is exactly on the list but look for "Use Shield Cell". That allows you to use them without them being bound to a fire group. It is a little annoying that their ammocount isn't listed like chaff, H-Breakers, and the like, however.

Ah excellent. I'll have to go and have a closer look. I just assumed anything requiring a fire group couldn't be set uo separately.
