.. and comments that usually hit me again and again were "shallow" and "no content".

I usually buy games after reading the reviews, especially those negative ones have an impact on my purchases (positive ones are important too but usually written by fanboys i.e. Star Citizen.. but we all know it's a scam). So for the time being I won't be buying JWE. I wanted to buy it for my son but now I don't know.

Watch some let's play on Youtube or some stream. There's plenty to do and I don't get the "shallow" comments at all - if anything, imho the game could do with LESS micromanagement, actually.
But for as if the game is worth 60 quid to YOU, yeah, that's your choice.

I don't have any regrets, so far.

I'm having a lot of fun messing around in it, progressing, and unlocking stuff. I'm hoping for more of an epic sandbox mode later on, but for now at least this is definitely keeping me hooked.

I'd say go for it, but to each their own, of course.

A lot of the reviews seem upset that this isn't Dino Crisis or Ark and they have to build and manage a park. Don't know what they were expecting since people ahve known about the game for how long now?

I actually played Ark: Survival Evolved and Dino Crisis, so there was no need to copy those games as we already have them. I always thought JWE was going to be Planet Coaster with Dinosaurs

I will just wait and keep an eye on the reviews, see what devs add to the game and watch streams and new videos as well. JWE seems a bit like rushed game to me, with potential to get much better.
